Martin Steele, President and Chief Executive Officer, joined The Bank in June 2013. Mr. Steele spent the prior 3 years at Charter Bank in Bellevue, a subsidiary of Boston Private Bank, where he served as President & CEO. Prior to Charter Bank, Mr. Steele held senior management positions at Commerce Bank of Washington and Bank of America. Mr. Steele's civic involvement has included board of trustee positions with Seattle Opera, Boy Scouts, ACT Theatre, Junior League, Multiple Schlerosis Society, Music Aid Northwest, Salvation Army, Imagine Housing, and the Bellevue Chamber of Commerce. He is a graduate of Yale University and Rutgers University.


Sheri PeñaSheri Peña

SVP | Chief Operating Officer

Sheri Peña, Chief Operating Officer, joined The Bank in August 2013 as head of community banking with oversight for the bank's branch network, compliance, deposit operations, and client services. Ms. Peña has more than 25 years of banking experience and was previously with Pacific Crest Savings Bank, where she was a senior vice president of client management. She attended college in Santa Rosa and is a graduate of Washington Banker's Association Compliance School. She has held numerous accreditations, including NASD Series 6 and 63 licenses, and is a passionate advocate of financial education, volunteering at local schools for all ages. 


Debby McDanielDebby McDaniel

SVP | Chief Financial Officer

Debby McDaniel, Chief Financial Officer, joined the bank in December 2015 and brings over 20 years of exceptional experience to The Bank of Washington. Ms. McDaniel was previously with Mission Bank in Bakersfield, CA, where she served in the capacity of Senior Vice President of Operations and Information Technology. Prior to that tour, she demonstrated her versatility as an accomplished banker with Eastside Commercial Bank in Bellevue as Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer/Chief Operating Officer. In addition, she has been employed with NCW Community Bank and Mid State Bank. Ms. McDaniel is a graduate of University of Phoenix with a Bachelor’s Degree in Finance.


Jeanne HansenJeanne Hansen

SVP | Chief Credit Officer

Jeanne Hansen, Chief Credit Officer, has been with The Bank since its inception in 1996, then known as The Bank of Edmonds. Ms. Hansen's prior positions include 3 years as credit administrator for West One Bank, and credit analyst and loan administrator for small business loans at Security Pacific Bank of Washington. Her past community involvement includes membership with the Rotary Club of Edmonds, where she served as secretary, as well as the Puget Sound Chapter of Risk Management Associates where she served as president. 


Dave Huguenin

Senior Consultant | Commercial Lending

Dave Huguenin, Senior Consultant of Commercial Lending, joined The Bank of Washington in October 2015. Mr. Huguenin brings to the bank a highly respectable banking career spanning 45 years. Most recently, Mr. Huguenin founded two banks, both in Bellevue. In 2008, he organized Core Business Bank, later acquired by Puget Sound Bank. Prior to that, he established Foundation Bank, growing the start-up community bank to over $240 million. The Bank of Washington is privileged to call Mr. Huguenin a colleague, bringing proven leadership skills and a remarkable business development acumen to the team. He is a native Washingtonian and a graduate of the University of Washington and Pacific Coast Banking School.


Scott Carey

SVP | IT Manager

Mr. Carey, Vice President and Manager of IT, has been with The Bank since September 2011. He has more than 25 years of experience in the information technology and  computer industries. Prior to joining The Bank of Washington, he was Vice President at Union Bank (formerly Frontier Bank) for six years where he managed client technologies and dozens of in-house and turn-key application systems on multiple platforms.
